Deaths from Zymotic Diseases.
The principal zymotic diseases are small-pox, measles,
scarlet fever, diphtheria (including membranous croup),
whooping cough, enteric fever, and diarrhœa.
The deaths from these causes in 1921 numbered 173, as
compared with 188 in 1920, a decrease of 8 per cent. There
was a corresponding decrease in the zymotic death-rate from
1·13 in 1920 to 1·02 in 1921.

The mean death-rate from each of the principal zymotic diseases for the ten years 1901-1910 and for the ten years 1911-1920 are compared with the corresponding rates for 1920 and 1921 in the following table:—
