the inspectors' duties, is only one of the questions with
which they are concerned. In the course of their work
they also carried out 903 inspections of food premises
and 191 inspections of ice-cream premises and made
338 smoke observations.
Apart from these duties, there are others such as
the inspection of markets and food barrows and the
supervision of slaughtering and slaughter-houses.
Work of the Female Inspector.—The greater part of
the work under the Factory and Workshops Act is
undertaken by the Woman Sanitary Inspector, Mrs.
Davies. During the year under review she carried out
