It is interesting to note that whereas during the
year under review the worst seasonal mortality took
place during the first quarter, in the preceding year the
worst mortality was in the fourth quarter, when the
death rate was 12.2. This is due, to some extent, to
the fact that the measles epidemic developed during
the last quarter of 1923 and the first quarter of 1924,
whereas during the first quarter of 1923 and the last
quarter of 1924 there was no measles epidemic in
existence.
