It is with regret that I have to refer to the death
of Dr. Percy W. Spaull, which occurred during the
year. Dr. Spaull acted for a considerable time during
Dr. Jackson's period of office, as deputy Medical Officer
of Health for the Borough, and always took a very
great interest in the various voluntary medical institutions,
particularly in the School Treatment Centre, of
which he was treasurer for several years.
I should like to take this opportunity of thanking
all those who have assisted during the year in any way
in their various capacities, whether as Councillors,
voluntary workers, or officers, in helping to carry on the
work of preventive medicine in the Borough.
I am, Mr. Mayor, Lady and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
A. MIDDLETON HEWAT,
Medical Officer of Health.
