Of the contacts examined, two contacts of a T.B. +case, one of
a T.B.—case and one of a Non-pulmonary case were found to be
definitely tuberculous by the end of the year.
Of these 172 notified cases, 26 P.T. and 4 O.T. were dead by the
end of the year.
The proportion of the notified cases seen at the Dispensary is much
smaller in these wards than in the St. Paul's and Vale wards, and it is
again evident that a greater number of the contacts can be secured for
examination if the notified case is seen at the Dispensary.
Of the 138 notified cases mentioned in the above table, it will be
noted that 72 were cases in which tubercle bacilli were found in the
•sputum, and of these latter, 56 were seen at the Dispensary.
Of the remaining 66 notified cases of pulmonary tuberculosis, it is
not known that the bacilli were ever found in the sputum; 21 of these
were seen at the Dispensary.
