I am pleased to record the fact that during the
year it was necessary to prosecute only one street
meat trader for non-compliance with the regulations
with regard to covering the stall for the protection
of the meat from dirt, etc. This man was an old
offender and the penalty imposed on this occasion
was £4.
SLAUGHTERERS OF POULTRY.
There are 8 slaughterhouses for poultry in use,
all of them situated in the West ward of the Borough:
63 visits were paid to them during the year. There
are also 5 premises on which poultry are kept prior
to slaughter, and to which the by-laws would apply.
