from which it will be seen that 243 new cases of Tuberculosis
were notified under the Public Health (Tuberculosis)
Regulations. In addition, there were 22 cases
which came to my knowledge other than by notification,
making a total of 265 cases.
In view of the introduction of new Regulations
which deal with the quarterly revision of the Tuberculosis
Register, it is now possible to estimate with a
greater degree of accuracy the prevalence of this
disease in the Borough. A thorough revision of the
Tuberculosis Register has taken place in accordance
with suggestions contained in a circular letter received
from the Ministry of Health, in consequence of which
the names of 989 patients have been removed from the
Register. The number of cases remaining on the
Register at the 31st December, 1925, was 1,333. The
details are given in the table on page 47.
During the year there were 121 deaths from
Pulmonary Tuberculosis, 14 deaths from Tuberculous
Meningitis, and 7 deaths from other tuberculous
diseases.
The number of deaths from Tuberculosis of all kinds during the past few years is as follows :—

1921 | 184 |
1922 | 219 |
