The Health Visitors continue to play a valuable part
in the socio-medical work of the department, but th e
promotion of the Almoner to another hospital was certainly
the department's loss.
Dr. Chalke, Medical Officer of Health for Camberwell,
has, as always, given help and advice and it is a pleasure
to thank him and his staff. Dr. Mower White and her staff
at L.C.C. Divisional Office have been ready to gi ve
assistance whenever possible.
Without the Camberwell District Nursing and Ranyard
Nursing organisations, a number of patients would have had
to be admitted to hospital. The London County Council
Ambulance Service has done well under trying circumstances.
