other four members of the family revealed the presence of
the same organism. Samples of various foods consumed by
members of the family were obtained and examined, but with
negative results. All efforts to trace the source of infection
were therefore unsuccessful. The investigation was
followed up, however, until specimens from each member of
the family proved negative.
