be possible to cope effectively with these resistant residual
infestations.
Anti-coagulants are playing an increasingly important role
in present day rodent control measures, and in Camberwell
these up-to-date methods have been in operation for some
time with considerable success.
One of the difficulties in using anti-coagulants for sewer
treatment has been the prevention of the deterioration of the
bait in the humid atmosphere of the sewer. The Rodent Officer
has, however, devised a new block bait incorporating an anticoagulant
with good keeping qualities and experiments are still
being conducted in the Council's sewers in conjunction with the
Technical Officers of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and
Food.
A summary of the work of the Rodent Control Staff appears
on page 42.
