Ice Lollies.
Twenty-three ice lollies and 3 cream lollies submitted for
bacteriological examination were all reported to be satisfactory.
Of 17 samples of ice lollies submitted for chemical analysis
one was found to contain 10 parts per million of lead. This
was apparently contaminated by the mould in which it was
frozen. The manufacturers were approached and all the existing
moulds were re-lined. The remainder of the stock was
destroyed. Subsequent samples obtained from the same source
were found to be satisfactory.
