Butter Factories and Wholesale Dealers in Margarine.
No application for registration under the provisions of the
Food and Drugs (Adulteration) Act, 1928, was received during the
year.
At the end of 1938 there were 15 wholesale dealers in margarine
on the register of this Authority.
Merchandise Marks Act, 1926.
Frequent inspections were made during the year to ensure
that the requirements of the Orders in Council made under the
above Act prohibiting the sale or exposure for sale of certain
imported foodstuffs, unless they bore an indication of the country
of origin, were being observed.
In the few instances where it was found that the Orders were
not being obeyed, either verbal or written cautions were administered.
