Outworkers.
During the year lists containing the names of 625 outworkers
residing in Camberwell were received from employers carrying on
business in this Borough and from other local sanitary authorities.
The number of visits of inspection of these premises where home
work was carried on was 645. It was necessary to serve notices
for unwholesome conditions existing at two of these premises. It
was also necessary to send cautionary letters to 8 employers for
neglecting to furnish a list of the names and addresses of outworkers
in their employ.
The following is an analysis of the industries in which these
persons were engaged.
