To the Chairman and Members of the Maternity and Child Welfare Committee.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
In October, 1936, the Council decided to establish weekly medical sessions
for toddlers at each of the four Municipal Infant Welfare Centres for an experimental
period of six months.
At the meeting of the Maternity and Child Welfare Committee held on
July Ist last, I reported on the work of these Clinics during the period from the
first session held on February 8th, 1937, to June 8th, 1937.
The Council in their consideration of this report resolved to continue these
experimental Clinics for a further period expiring on February 5th, 1938, and
requested me to submit a further report which I have pleasure in furnishing at
this meeting of your Committee.
Statistical tables are also appended similar to those submitted with my
report in July last, but covering the period from the opening date of these special
sessions to December 4th, 1937. Table "A " summarises the attendance during
this period : Table " B " indicates the use made of the toddlers' clinic by children
who have in the past attended an infant welfare centre ; and Table " C " records
in summary form the attendances at the toddlers' clinics in age groups.
