There is also to be recorded an increase in the number of deaths
from malignant disease, viz., 451 as compared with 396 in 1932.
The deaths from the principal diseases of the respiratory system,
pneumonia and bronchitis, accounted for 300, a decrease of 48.
Included in the deaths from infectious diseases were: —
Diphtheria 20, scarlet fever 6, cerebro-spinal fever 4, encephalitis
lethargica 5, measles 4, and whooping-cough 20. There were no
deaths registered from typhoid and paratyphoid fevers.
A table providing details of all deaths registered, after
correction for inward and outward transfers, appears in the following
table:—
