The total number of cases on the Tuberculosis Register
at the end of the year was 1,723 i.e. 1,401 pulmonary, 327
non-pulmonary.
The rate of non-notified deaths to the total deaths was
1 to 4.19 compared with 1 to 9.8. in 1941.
No case of wilful neglect or refusal to' notify cases on
the part of medical practitioners occurred.
No occasion arose during 1942 for any action under the
Public Health (Prevention of Tuberculosis) Regulations 1925
or the Public Health Act 1936, Section 172.
