Food Inspection.
The Food Inspector undertakes the examination of any
food suspected to be unsound and if found to be unfit for human
consumption he issues a condemnation certificate. During
1949 he issued 2,593 such certificates in respect of unsound food
surrendered. Meat inspection, ice cream sampling, enquiries
with regard to food poisoning and other special duties associated
with food products are also the Food Inspector's responsibilities.
