Investigation was made in every case where a doubt existed
with regard to the information stated in the application, and in
two instances it was found necessary, after enquiries had been
made, to request the attendance of the applicants before the
Maternity and Child Welfare Committee to offer an explanation
of the conflicting information relating to domestic circumstances.
In both cases the Committee decided that the nature of the
irregularity did not warrant any steps being taken other than the
administration of a severe reprimand and the refund to the
Council of the cost of the milk supplied.
