Public Mortuary.
The Public Mortuary is situated in St. George's Road, Peckham.
During 1925, 343 bodies were deposited there. In 236
cases post-mortem examinations were made, and 335 inquests
were held.
Public Swimming Baths.
In 1924 I was requested by the Public Service Committee to
submit a report as to the purity of the water in the Public Swimming
Baths in the Borough. Various samples were taken and
submitted to the Borough Bacteriologist, and, resulting from the
analyses, I suggested certain methods which, if adopted, would
ensure that each person obtained pure water to bathe in.
Arising out of the report in question the Council are installing
a sterilisation plant at the Old Kent Road Baths.
