HOUSING.
During the year 1943, no areas were represented or declared by
the Council.
No new flats or cottages have been erected during the year.
HOUSING ACT, 1936—OVERCROWDING.
There are no reliable statistics available with regard to overcrowding,-
owing to the many changes in the occupation of houses
which are still taking place. Out of a total of just over 600 applications

families were living in overcrowded circumstances, and about 165
families had no separate accommodation.
