Report on the sanitary condition of the Borough of Bermondsey for the year 1938

soon as the diagnosis was established the parents were recommended
to seek the appropriate form of treatment from their
private doctor or a hospital. In both cases an appointment or
letter was given so that the minimum amount of delay should
result. Only 52 children were found to be completely healthy
and were consequently discharged; the defects discovered are
classified in the following table:—

POST-NATAL AND SPECIAL CLINICS FOR WOMEN.
The total number of attendances at the Gynaecological
Clinics was 656; of these 231 patients attended for the first time
Twenty-three had inflammation of the genital tract. Most of
these patients were treated at the clinic.
