VI. DENTAL TREATMENT.
There has been no important change in this scheme during the
year, and the figures show slight variations as compared with
1932. The volume of work remains much the same as last year
with perhaps a slight increase at the Rotherhithe Centre; there
appears also to have been a slight increase in the number of
fillings done in children as compared with other years, and this
may perhaps mean that parents are becoming more willing to take
the Dental Surgeon's advice and conserve teeth, rather than
merely to demand the removal of offending teeth.
Owing to the desire to exercise economy one gas session was
dispensed with in 1932, and it has been possible during this year
to manage with one gas session only at Bermondsey and to do
practically the same number of extractions as last year.
The scale of fees charged has also been modified during the
year with the object of securing greater uniformity.
