Report on the sanitary condition of the Borough of Bermondsey for the year 1932

PUBLIC HEALTH (IMPORTED FOOD) REGULATIONS, 1925.
Under these Regulations, 24 samples were taken during the
year by the Wharves Inspectors. Of this number, 2 samples
were taken in order to ascertain the composition of an unusual
product; 11 were examined for preservatives ; 6 samples were
bacteriologically examined and 4 were examined for the presence
of tin. The remaining sample was taken from a consignment of
broken worm-eaten nutmegs and in this case the attention of the
Ministry of Health was drawn to the matter with a view to further
investigation in other districts.
