Borough of Bermondsey.
ANNUAL REPORT
OF THE
MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH.
To the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors of the Borough of
Bermondsey.
Sir, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to submit the Annual Report for the year
1930. In Sect. 10, which is included for the first time, there will
be found time-tables and other information in connection with
various clinics and organisations at work in the borough. I
would draw special attention to progress in connection with the
Maternity and Child Welfare, Midwifery, Nursing and Dental
Schemes. While a great effort has been made to deal with the
defective housing conditions in the borough it still remains the
fact that these conditions constitute one of the most difficult
problems which this Council has to face.
The Annual Report provides a iitting opportunity to express
the thanks of the Department to the Council for the provision of
accommodation in the New Municipal Offices. I would like at
the same time to express my thanks to the Chairman and Members
of Committees, to the staff of the Department and to the General
Manager of Works who has so kindly supplied the report on
refuse collection.
I am, Sir, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
D. M. CONNAN.
