VII.—PROPAGANDA.
The Propaganda Section of the Department which has been
in existence for six years shows, as in each previous year, an
increase in the amount of work done.
The lectures given were, as follows :—
Audiences
Schools
50 .. 10,960
Clubs and Other Institutions
tions
72 .. 10,698
Open Air with Cinema Van
48 .. 17,500
Total
170 .. 39,158
One new film entitled "'Opping'" was produced and added
to the library making a total of 18. Two others on "The Germ
Theory" and "Tuberculosis" are nearing completion, and
will shortly be available for. showing.
No new pamphlets or bookmarks were published, but large
numbers of the 35 already in use were circulated.
During November and December three cinema performances
were given in the hall at the Central Baths, Grange Road, to
school children. The London County Council kindly allowed
us the use of the "School Organisation" for the distribution of
tickets and in each case blocks of seats were allocated to the
schools, sufficient for the number of tickets applied for. Further
performances are being given at the beginning of this year. The
programmes, which are composed of films suitable for children,
always include one of our own Health subjects.
An innovation during the year has been the granting of
certificates for Personal Health Hygiene to school children.
