From the table it will be seen that in recent years, since 1924,
the prevalence of the disease has shown a tendency to diminish.
The stress of the disease is chiefly during the school years—
from 5 to 15 years of age.
Under one year of age, and beyond 45 years of age, the numbers
of patients affected is small.
During the same period 1920-1927, the deaths from diphtheria
amongst Finsbury patients have been as follows: —
