No cases of Infectious disease were notified or discovered on
the canal boats, therefore isolation of patients and detention of
boats have not been necessary.
The inspection of canal boats is part of the duty of the
Sanitary Inspector whose district includes that part of the Borough
in which the canal is situated. This year the duties were carried
out by Inspector Newdick.
THE MORTUARY.
In 1926, the number of post-mortem examinations was 42,
the number of bodies brought to the mortuary for the convenience
of relatives of the deceased was 193. The number of inquests
held in the Borough was 41. The number of bodies received into
the mortuary on account of death after infectious disease numbered
