and divided into two separate schemes, one, a housing and clearance
scheme for the Mantell Street and Southampton Street areas,
the other, a clearance scheme for Pump Court, White Horse Alley
and Market Buildings.
London County Council Houses:—The London County Council
is at present erecting houses for London residents on its estates at
Becontree and Downham. The Becontree scheme is a very extensive
one and its houses touch the districts of Ilford, Chadwell
Heath and Dagenham. The nearest railway stations are, for
Becontree (Ilford Section) Chadwell Heath Station,
London and North Eastern Railway;
Becontree (Dagenham Section) Dagenham & Barking
Stations, London Midland and Scottish Railway, and
Barking Station, District Railway;
Downham—Grove Park, Bellingham and Catford Stations,
Southern Railwav.
