INFECTIOUS AND OTHER DISEASES.
Mortality from the Principal Epidemic Diseases.
The following diseases are included under this heading : —Small
Pox, Measles, Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria, Whooping Cough, Fevers
(that is to say, Typhus, Enteric and Continued), Diarrhoeal Diseases,
and Plague.
DEATHS AND DEATH RATE.
Altogether 114 deaths were registered during 1916 and the death
rate from all these diseases, calculated on the estimated population,
was 103 per 1000 of the population, compared with an average
of 1.8 forthe past ten years. In 1915 the death rate was 2.07;
in 1914, 1.69; and in 1913, 1.87.
