The population of the Metropolitan Borough of Deptford at the
census taken April, 1911, was 109,496.
The estimated population to the middle of the year 1914, based
on the results of the above census and that of 1901, was 109,182.
The estimated population for each of the various wards based on
the results of the Census of 1901 and that of 1911, was as follows:—

As the Borough has an area of 1563 acres, the density of the
population on this estimate is 70 per acre approximately.
The following table shows the total number of dwelling houses and the number inhabited and uninhabited in 1901, 1911, and 1914 respectively:—
