Marriages.
There were 857 marriages in the Borough during the year, as
compared with an average of 749 in the ten years preceding.
The marriage rate for 1914 was equal to 7'8 per 1,000 of the
estimated population and has not been exceeded in any year for the
past ten years, except in 1912, when the rate was 8'3.
The marriages were celebrated in the following places:—
511 in Churches of England.
112 in other places of worship.
234 in the Superintendent Registrar's Office.
