Work of Sanitary Inspectors.
The work performed by the District Inspectors represents, as usual,
a very large number of inspections. The total inspections and visits to
premises numbered 26,684 as against 27,739 for the previous year. The
figures stated above related to 6,025 houses in which 7,039 sanitary
improvements of one kind and another were effected. The premises
visited included stable yards, manure depots, vacant land, passages,
public urinals, urinals attached to public houses and premises for which
certificates under the Customs and Inland Revenue Acts were required,
as well as those for which certificates as to the water supply were
demanded.
Re-drainage.
The principal re-drainage work for the year 1914 has been carried
out at the following premises. To redrain:—

To fix a new stoneware gully and pipes to building at the rear of

To redrain, by a combined operation in connection with the existing
system, No. 4 Wickham Road
Do. No. 87 Wickham Road
Do. Nos. 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37,
38, 39 and 40 Colwick Street, and the Evelyn Saw Mills
in that street.
