AGES AT DEATH.
An examination of the mortality returns shows that at every
age period, with two exceptions, there was an increase on the average
of the preceding six years. The exceptions occurred in the two periods
which cover the greater part of juvenile life, namely, from 1 year to
5 years of age, and from 5 years to 15 years. Infants under twelve
months old died in greater numbers than usual, the returns showing
an increase of 119. Nevertheless, the total increase under 5 years
was only 19. The largest increase at any period occurred between
the ages of 55 and 65, and for this Influenza was largely responsible.
The following Tables give very full particulars of the deaths at
each period of life, and also of the death-rates at those periods.
