FACTORIES AND WORKSHOPS.
A very large amount of sanitary work has been effected in the
factories and workshops of Islington during the year by the two
Inspectors, Miss Gray and Mr. West. They have been fully
employed, and the result of their labours has been most gratifying.
It is also satisfactory to find that nearly all the irritation, never a
great deal, which the employers of labour had formerly felt at what
they called the "interference" of the inspectors has died away, so
that now their work is accomplished in a pleasant and friendly
manner.
A synopsis of the work performed may be found in the following statement.
