The disinfecting apparatus have now treated at least 133,350
separate large articles of bedding and clothing, apart from packages
containing small things such as handkerchiefs, serviettes, stockings,
etc., since their erection in 1895.

The following is the record of the work of the machines:—

This amount is not very large, compared with the quantities
given away in previous years. It must be recollected, however,
that no disinfectants are now given to the public unless they produce
a card from a Sanitary Inspector showing that there is
infection in the applicant's house, or that they are required because
of sanitary work which is in progress.
