DIPHTHERIA.
The cases of this disease that were notified were also less by 95
than the average of the preceding eight years. The case rate was
1.97 per 1,000 inhabitants, compared with a rate of 3.98 in the
Metropolis, and of 2.56 in the Encircling Districts. Only twelve of
the London districts showed a lesser case rate.
