The averages used are obtained from observations extending over 65 years for rain, 75 years for temperature, and 18 years for sunshine.
Pressure is expressed in millibars (1000 m.b. = 29.531 mercury inches). Wind-force, —Beaufort Scale (0-12) is used. The summary is obtained from the
records of a cup anemograph having 5 inch cups and 15 inch arms. The factor used is 3. Winds above 37 miles per hour are reckoned as gales, and wands
between 21 and 37 miles per hour as moderate or strong winds.
