decrease from 101 to 83 per 1,000 births. There is a decrease in
diarrhoeal deaths both in number and rate per 1,000 of the population,
the rate for 1916 being .43 as compared with .59 for 1915.

In conclusion, I have to thank the Public Health Committee
and Council for the kindness and consideration with which they
have regarded my endeavours to carry out the duties of Medical
Officer of Health and Tuberculosis Officer, and I have also to
