ADMITTANCE OF INSPECTOR.
No difficulty has been experienced in regard to the visits of the Inspectors of this
Authority.
LEGAL PROCEEDINGS.
Proceedings have not been taken in any case of infringement of the Acts and
Regulations during the year.
The canal boat "Sarah Ann," registered Port of London, No. 480, was inspected
on the 25th June and 13th October, infringing the Acts and Regulations, as follows:—
After cabin overcrowded.
Skylight broken. Deck leaky.
Fore cabin unfit for occupation.
Ventilation defective.
Flooring, woodwork and bulkhead defective.
Paintwork dirty.
The owner was warned that a prosecution would be initiated unless the matters
were attended to forthwith. The condition of the boat was brought to the notice of
various Authorities and of H.M. Chief Inspector of Canal Boats.
On 19th October the owner replied that this would have his special attention.
On 31st December information was received from the Canal Boats Officer at Brentford,
that the boat was in dock undergoing necessary repairs.
This case will be followed up with a view to further inspection by an officer of the
Port of London Sanitary Authority.
DOUBLE BULKHEADS.
(6) There were three infringements with regard to the condition of these.
(7) No boats have been detained for cleansing.
(8) On December 31st, 1920, there were 272 boats on the Register
Propelled by Tug and Oars 254

(9) One boat was registered in 1920.
