The Port of London Authority,
Dock and Warehouse Manager's Office,
109, Leadenhall Street, E.C. 3,
27th November, 1920.
Dear Sir,
At a recent meeting of the Authority your letter of the 9th instant was submitted, and I am
desired to inform you that consideration will be given by the Authority to the several matters
to which you have directed attention in relation to the measures which it is recommended should
be taken for the extermination of rats and mice in the Docks.
For your information I may add that the Superintendents of each control have been
instructed to keep in touch with the rat officers of the Port of London Sanitary Authority, and
to supply these officers with such information as they may desire, and to confer with them
with respect to such remedies as it may be practicable to apply within the buildings, having due
regard to the character of the goods stored therein.
With regard to those measures which from time to time you may deem it desirable to
recommend affecting the buildings themselves, or those aspects of the problem which involve
alterations or additions to the buildings and premises, the officer with whom the Authority
would desire you to confer is the Chief Engineer.
Yours faithfully,
G. MASKALL,
Dock and Warehouse Manager.
