OUTWORKERS AND HOMEWORKERS.—The provisions of the Act
relating to "Outworkers" were carried out as heretofore, and the lists of the names
and addresses of workers receiving work from the City firms were duly received
without the necessity of legal proceedings.
In a number of cases employers neglected to keep lists at their premises and
to send copies of the same to the Corporation as required by the Act. Notice in
each case was served upon the offender and in all cases complied with.
No case of infectious disease was reported in connection with premises occupied
by outworkers in the City. In one instance a "contact" with a case of Diphtheria
was reported. The necessary enquiries were made and suitable precautions taken.
