ALDGATE MARKET AND SLAUGHTERHOUSES.—The great reduction
in the number of animals slaughtered at Aldgate is accounted for by the continuation
of the "Control" whereby cattle are graded and killed at the Metropolitan
Market, Islington.
As it is proposed to De-Control after July, 1920, it is probable that the trade
at Aldgate will then gradually resume its normal condition.
No additional hours of duty were performed under Bye-Law No. 19.

Of the 928 Bovines (not including Calves) killed, 24 or 2.4 per cent. were found
affected with Tuberculosis, and of the 10,644 Calves, 39 or 0.3 per cent. showed
lesions of the same disease.
