for the Year 1918.
To the Mayor, Aldermen, and Councillors of the
Metropolitan Borough of Wandsworth.
Sir and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present the Annual Report on the health
and sanitary condition of the Borough for the year 1918.
Population.
The civil population of the Borough to the middle of 1918
has been estimated by the Registrar General to be 292,408 for
the purpose of calculating death rates and 327,633 for birth-rates.
The population, uncorrected for Institutions, as ascertained
from an enumeration of the ration books, was found to be 327,595.
Table I. shows the population of each sub-district based on the above estimation of the Registrar General compared with the Census population. TABLE I.
