the year, as well as other information which it has been thought
advisable to group together for the purpose of comparison with
other Metropolitan Boroughs.

Unsound Food.
Two trunks of dabs, one trunk of dog-fish, two boxes of
mackerel, two barrels of crabs, 32 boxes of tomatoes, 50 boxes
of apples, two sacks of potatoes, three boxes of grapes, eight
fowls, and 350 pounds of beef were destroyed at the request of the
owners and the usual certificates granted.
Two convictions were obtained for exposing unsound meat
for sale, and fines amounting to £24 16s. were inflicted with 2s.
costs.
FACTORIES AND WORKSHOPS.
There has been a decrease in the total number of inspections
of the above, compared with 1915, but an examination of the Tables
will show that a very large amount of work has been carried out
by both the male and female inspectors.
