Whooping Cough.
49 deaths, (10 in Clapham, three in Putney, 11 in Streatham,
10 in Tooting and 11 in Wandsworth), occurred during the year,
24 of these were infants under one year of age, 15 from one and
under two years, five from two and under five years, and five
from five and under 15 years. The death-rate was 15 per 1,000.
Disinfection of Schools.
During the year six public elementary and seven private
schools in the Borough were disinfected, chiefly on account of cases
of Diphtheria and Scarlet Fever having occurred among the
scholars attending these schools.
Epidemic Influenza.
74 deaths, (15 in Clapham, four in Putney, 30 in Streatham,
five in Tooting and 20 in Wandsworth), occurred during the year,
29 of these being of persons from 25 and under 65 years, and 39
over 65 years of age.
The death-rate was 23 per 1,000.
Diarrhcea.
95 deaths, 56 of males and 39 of females, occurred from all
forms of Diarrhoea and Enteritis during the year. 14 of the deaths
