570 last year; it was found necessary to serve 67 notices compared
with 37 in 1918. 98 inspections of home-workers'
premises were made, and 7 notices were sent and attended to.
The Lady Sanitary Inspector devoted a large amount of her
time to the inspection of workshops, factories and houses where
women are employed.
No cases of Infectious Diseases were notified as having occurred
in the homes of outworkers.
The houses of outworkers are subject to the regular inspection
that takes place as the routine work of the Sanitary Inspectors
in house-to-house inspection, and in connection with complaints,
and are therefore maintained in a fairly satisfactory condition.
The following Tables, Nos. 18a and 18b, are in the form suggested
by the Home Office for the guidance of Medical Officers of
Health so as to ensure uniformity in the presentation of statistics.
