satisfactory. The times of the inspections were varied as much
as possible.
FACTORIES AND WORKSHOPS.
Six hundred and forty-four inspections were made in the 290
workshops and factories in the Borough during the year, and it was
found necessary to serve 29 Notices, chiefly for the cleansing and
defects in the flushing arrangements of water closets, etc.
The Register has been revised. H.M. Inspector of factories
was notified of three cases where occupiers of workshops had failed
to affix the Abstract of the Factory and Workshops Acts, and the
one complaint received from him was dealt with and reported on.
The outworkers Lists from the various firms in the Borough
employing outside labour were dealt with. Particulars of those
persons living outside the Borough being forwarded to the Medical
Officer of Health of their district.
Of the Outworkers notified from firms whose places of business
are in Stoke Newington—
