A comparison of the causes of Infantile Mortality in 1916 with
those of the preceding year shows a decrease during last year in the
deaths from Measles, Diseases of the Lungs, and Premature Birth.
THE INFANT CARE WORK.
Miss Aldridge reports as follows:—
"During the year 756 infants were visited in their homes. These
visits were followed by 1,362 re-visits, making a total of 2,118.
"It is usual to pay the first visit when the child is about 10
days old, as this is when the Doctor or Midwife cease to attend.
We find the mothers expect us to visit them; they appreciate the
interest taken in their children, and are anxious for information
that will help them.
"The Milk Fund has been of great service throughout the year;
without it we should have had a larger number of babies hand fed
