formed for the purpose, but it was pointed out that such delegation
of duties would necessitate legislation, which the Minister could
hold out no hope of promoting at the present time.
The Greenwich Borough Council at their meeting on 21st
November, 1923, decided to form a Permanent Tuberculosis Care
Committee for the Borough, constituted as follows :—
Five members of the Public Health Committee of the
Greenwich Borough Council.
One representative of the Local ex-Service Benevolent
Committee of the United Services Fund.
One representative of the Local Medical Practitioners.
One representative of the British Red Cross Society.
One representative of the Greenwich Guardians.
One representative of the National Health Insurance.
One representative of the Miller Hospital.
Two representatives of the London County Council.
One representative of the Invalid Children's Aid Association.
One representative of the Charity Organisation Society.
The Medical Officer of Health, and
The Tuberculosis Officer.
It was further decided that such Committee be appointed
annually and that its proceedings be submitted at each meeting of
the Public Health Committee.
To these proposals both the Ministry of Health and the London
County Council have signified their general approval.
