HOUSES INSPECTED AND INQUIRIES MADE IN
CONNECTION WITH INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
Number of Houses Inspected and Inquiries made by Infectious
Disease Inspector 1,674
Number of Re-visits 3,523
The Health Visitors also visited 1,830 cases, and re-visited
when required.
The following books belonging to the Libraries, etc., were
destroyed in consequence of Infectious Disease :—
Central Libraries, 189 ; School Libraries, 18 ; Total, 207.
CLEANSING STATION, BLACKWALL LANE.
The arrangements made with the London County Council for
reserving the use of the Council's Cleansing Station on Mondays
and Thursdays for the cleansing of verminous school children
continue in operation.
The following table shows the number of children cleansed
during the year :—
1st quarter 290
2nd „ 227
3rd „ 194
4th „ 246
Total 957
Eleven adults suffering from vermin were also given cleansing
baths. In every case the infested clothing was disinfected.
